Walking Different Paths to the Same Source: Why My Spirituality Doesn’t Repel God—It Reflects My Truth

Published on 13 April 2025 at 10:42

Let’s get one thing straight, spirituality isn’t one-size-fits-all. I’ve seen the judgment. I’ve felt the whispers. I’ve been on the receiving end of “I’ll pray for you” laced with pity or quiet condemnation. But here’s the thing: my spiritual journey isn’t a rejection of God, it’s a return to Source on my terms.

I’m not here to debate belief systems. I’m here to express mine. Because when someone says walking outside of religion means walking away from God, I have to respectfully disagree. And maybe... just maybe, you're feeling that too.

The Labeling of 'Witch' and Why It Scares People

Have you ever felt closer to the Divine the moment you stopped trying to fit into someone else’s definition of God?

Let’s be real, when you hear the word witch, it still carries a chill for many. But what is a witch, really?

To me, a witch is a woman (or anyone, really) who remembers. Someone who listens to nature, honors the energy within all things, speaks intentions, and believes in their own power. It’s not evil, it’s ancient. It’s sacred. And the fear around it? That’s projection.

To fear a witch is to fear oneself. Because the truth is, we all hold that same spark of divine power. It’s easier for some to deny that power than to fully face it. That’s not darkness, that’s discomfort with truth.

Organized Religion vs. Personal Relationship with the Divine

I grew up around religion. And for a long time, I tried to fit into it, hoping it would help me feel closer to God. But instead, I found myself feeling smaller, silenced, and shamed for asking questions that came from a place of deep curiosity and connection.

It’s not that I turned away from God, I just stopped chasing God through a door that was never truly open for me. I found the Divine in nature. In silence. In dreams. In energy. In rituals passed down through intuition and ancestral memory. And yes, in practices some might label as witchcraft, but which I call sacred self-connection.

"I didn’t walk away from God, I walked away from judgment. And in doing so, I found God within me."

Why My Spirituality Isn’t About Repelling God—It’s About Remembering Source

When someone says my path repels God or that I’m choosing to exist outside of His love, I have to ask, what is your definition of God?

Because mine is not built on fear, judgment, or exclusion.

My God is everywhere. In me. In you. In herbs and incense, in moonlight, in forgiveness, in the power of words and intention. My spirituality is not rebellion, it’s remembrance.

And to anyone who believes I'm lost: I respect your belief. I honor your prayer. But please understand, I haven’t turned away from God. I’ve turned inward to find the God within.

The Hypocrisy Many of Us Feel but Don’t Speak On

Let’s be honest, part of the reason some of us have walked away from the church isn’t because we hate God, it’s because we were tired of being judged in His name.

I watched people cherry-pick verses to condemn others while ignoring the ones about love, compassion, and humility. I saw more fear-based manipulation than I did true spiritual freedom. And I knew I had to go find my own way back to divinity, one that didn’t shame me for who I was becoming.

✨ Let’s Reflect Together:

  • Have you ever felt judged for your spiritual path?

  • Do you find God in places others don’t understand?

  • What does spiritual truth mean to you?

Whether you call it God, Universe, Source, Spirit, or something else, we’re all just trying to find our way back home. For some, that’s through religion. For others, like me, it’s through personal connection, ritual, and deep inner work.

To those who stand firm in their faith, I see you. To those who are walking your own spiritual path, I walk with you.

You are not lost. You are not evil. You are not broken.

You are awakening.
